Over the past decade Gina Clark & Maxi Kim have worked across a variety of media including performance, music, film, photography, writing, installation, and graphics. Within these practices, the young CalArts graduates have supported the preservation of the innovative and exploratory arts; always mindful of the fact that we are living in an age dominated by Domesticity & Artifice. Gina is the founder of the Northern California based nonprofit Unsichtbar Birnbaum Performance Exploratory – now merged with The New School for Social Research, San Francisco. Maxi’s project ‘Reading’ Slavoj Zizkek: A Group Reading Seminar was initially performed at London’s University of Greenwich & Goldsmiths College in spring 2008, and then moved to Los Angeles’ Zero Point in summer 2008. Book Works & Arts Council England recently released Kim’s Japanese novel One Break, A Thousand Blows – a chapter was inspired by Clark’s photography & performance work, and was titled The sheer irreducibility of Gina Clark.
